The design of the roading network in this district does not allow for easy route design. School buses would ideally operate within each school’s transport zone, but doing so in this area would require buses to carry out u-turns which is a safety risk.
The Boards of Trustees of Kaponga and Auroa Schools have agreed that families living on the roads marked in black on the map below are able to board the bus to their school of choice at the their driveway.
Auroa school students living beyond the Auroa transport zone but not on these roads are required to meet the school at 2051 Opunake Road or 169 Rowan Road. These locations are marked in red on the map below.
